How To Develop A Content Plan For Your Niche Blog

Before you even start on any blog, you have to first decide
on what you want your blog to focus on. You also need to
check if you want to be an authority in the niche you will
be focusing on or if you just simply want an outlet to
express your feelings. By knowing which of these you want
to achieve, you can better create your content plan.

So, how do you start developing your content plan?

First, you should do some research. In one way or another, you
should find other bloggers who are focusing on the same niche
you will be venturing in. Check out these bloggers and know
their best practices. Do they post regularly? What are the
topics they usually cover? What are they missing out on? And
more importantly, how can you make it better?

In blogging, healthy competition is unavoidable. There will
always be other bloggers who will speak of the same things
like you do. The key here is to differentiate yourself from
the rest without straying so much from your chosen niche.
Readers can sense if you are writing merely for the sake of
it, so be sure you are passionate about the topic you are
blogging on.

You can also come up with an individual style of blogging --
that which is unique only to you and your blog. Whether you
want to be known as the blogger of lists, a review blogger,
or a video blogger, it's really up to you to be consistent
with your style on your blog.

Apart from this, you should also take into consideration how
you would treat regular posts and featured posts. You can't
just be giving your readers short bits of information every
time you post. In the same way, you shouldn't also tire
yourself by creating extra long posts every time. This type
of scheduling should be included in your content plan.

In creating a content plan for your niche blog, you always
have to be one or two steps ahead. This translates to having
posts written ahead of time and scheduled for posting in case
something comes up and you won't be able to update your blog.

More importantly, you should have a regular posting schedule
and be realistic with it. It is also essential that you study
how your visitors react to your blog posting schedule by
checking your analytics. Most of the time, people just want
to have a light post on a Monday and a Friday. So, post your
content-rich posts around the middle of the week.

Upon implementing your content plan, see to it that you
double check your postings to check if they are going out
as scheduled and that they are formatted properly. You can
sign up for your own blog feed so that you can immediately
check for errors and correct them before more people see
them. Be sure to also respond to comments when they come
since it fosters interaction with your blog followers.

Just because you have a content plan ready before starting
your blog doesn't mean it is set in stone. The beauty of
niche blogging is that you can always make some tweaks to
your blog so that you can easily adjust it to the ever
changing needs of your readers.

With these tips in mind, you can easily develop a content
plan that will help you stay focused on your blog's niche
without getting disheartened at the onset of blogging.
