Since you are reading this, chances are you have the dream
of building a profitable Internet business. Perhaps your
dream is only for a second income to supplement your current
paycheck. Or maybe you dream of building an Internet business
which will replace your current job and enable you to leave
the "rat race" forever! No matter which level of success you
dream, the basic characteristics of all successful Internet
marketers are the same.

First of all, the size of your dream matters. By size, I do
not mean how much money you dream of making. Instead, what
I mean is how deep your dream runs. Is its foundation strong
enough to weather all the negatives which you will encounter
early on? Sometimes friends, family members, and even spouses
can be skeptical of your dream. Since your dream will not
produce tangible results in the beginning, the dream must
be strong enough to withstand all the negativity and setbacks
encountered early on. Dream Big - Dream Strong!

Next on the list is an Internet marketer's ability to look at
failure in a positive way. Every single successful Internet
marketer experienced many failures before earning their first
$100 of online income. Since there are no exact scripts to
follow, every marketer has to discover their own unique path
to success. This takes time and does not happen on the first
or second attempt. In fact, a beginning marketer may try and
"fail" 5 or 10 times with various ideas before gaining traction
and profiting with just one. The trials and errors experienced
should be looked at as "the learning experience" required for
success. Beginners must learn the fine art of Failing Fast!

Successful Internet marketers must have an outstanding work
ethic. There is no room for laziness in this business. Only
self-starters and highly motivated people need apply! Nothing
is easy with respect to building an Internet business.
Contrary to many misconceptions by beginners, there are no
secrets to easy money online. Instead, countless hours are
required, alone with just a computer, to produce anything
at all which might resemble success. Beginners severely
underestimate the amount of time required to succeed online.
Too often they see the high-flying guru's enjoying the good
life with 7 figure incomes and nearly non-stop vacations.
Not so obvious are the years of hard work it took to enjoy
that level of life style. Dig in, work hard, and success
will show itself. Remember, always practice Relentless
Focused Action!

Lastly, successful online marketers must step away from
"Dilbert Cube" mentality and think out of the box. I know
it may sound clich? but beginners who try to find a "paint
by numbers" system for success are always greatly disappointed!
Online success requires tapping into rivers of creative juices.
An Internet marketer's success is always based on how well
he or she can weave together massive amounts of creative
thinking, tried and proven Internet marketing principles,
and a huge doses of "get it done" mentality.

Just as with conventional businesses, the success rate for
those who attempt building online businesses is quite low.
Although there are no guarantees in this business, the
four characteristics outlined above are, for all practical
purposes, required for success. It is difficult to imagine,
without lottery-winning-luck, that anyone could pass go
and achieve Internet success without these traits firmly
rooted in place. Dream big, work hard, stay positive and
seek out your own path; that is the road leading to your dream!
