What Are The Benefits Of Getting Physical

Don’t need to sell as much

Often there is a limit as to how much you can squeeze out
of an E-Book in terms of pricing. Just doing the sums say
you want to earn USD$2000 this week. With a USD$20 E-Book
you will have to sell 100 of them.

If your physical product is priced at USD$197 you only need
to sell 10 of them! Looking at the examples above you may
even have a far more comprehensive package of manuals and
CD’s that you can sell for USD$997. In this case you only
need to sell two copies,

Easier Money

You will have heard the phrase many times that the back
end sales are where the money is. To keep selling the same
customer USD$20 E-Books is no easy task. However if you
have some big-ticket items you will be able to make money
a lot easier.

As an example: Let’s say your first sale to a customer was
a book on hypnotic language patterns and how they can be
used in copywriting Internet sales letters.

Your next product could be an audio and manual for USD$97
that has examples of successful hypnotic language. The CD
could be the sound track of an actual session to develop
good copy.

Later on this person may also wish to buy the DVD’s of the
actual weekend seminar on “The Hypnotic Boot Camp”

The DVD’s could be sold for USD$997. So starting with a
USD$20 E-Book the next sale could be USD$97 with the final
sale being USD$997.

More Profit

As you saw in the examples in the previous section the raw
cost of the higher value items is only a small percentage
of the final sales price. This means that although an
E-Book at USD$20 has virtually no cost and the profit is
almost all of the USD$20 a USD$997 product probably has
a net profit of around USD$850. A whole lot more net profit
for one sale.

Higher Value

Physical products generally have a higher perceived value.
The customer knows that they will probably be investing
more time and money in to their purchase and they can see
that the product is far more comprehensive and real.

Even though the actual product creation and production
costs are minimal the value perceived by the purchaser
is higher than a digital product.

From our experience in the fulfillment centre response
rates seem to be higher for physical products and the
return rates lower.

Once someone has felt the physical manual and watched the
DVD’s it is more difficult for them to pack it all up in
resaleable condition and return it. Sending an email about
dissatisfaction with a digital product is a lot easier to do.

E.
More Committed Customers

A physical product is more likely to be used by the purchaser.
Digital products can often be buried on someone’s hard drive.
Physical products lie around on tables, bedside cabinets and
in car stereos. More chance to get customer commitment.

F. Mind Expansion

When you move from selling USD$20 items to selling USD$997
items your frame of reference changes. You yourself put more
value on the items you create and produce. As your business
grows even the USD$997 price point may eventually be too low
for your product range.
