Let's talk about the value of your list.

A lot of people don't understand the value of a customer,
prospect or list.

So they get taken advantage of, more or less.

Here's what I mean:

Let's say you're on the affiliate bandwagon promoting the
hot product of the month. Nothing wrong with that.

Now, let's say that hot product pays ... mmmm .... 90% on
the front end. There aren't many products that do that.
But let's just suppose.

And suppose it just sells like hotcakes.

Wow! You promote it and the sells just don't stop rolling
in!

Is it a good deal?

That depends on how much you understand about the value of
your list. I'll explain.

The average ebook sells for $50.00. That means you're
probably raking in a whopping $25.00 a sale. Which is the
same as $50.00 a sale commission on a product that
converts half as much.

But lets say you're getting an insane 90% commission or
$45.00. Is that a good deal?

... The plot thickens.

When you promote someone else's product, they cream off
the best customers from your list, right? The ones who are
most responsive. The ones who buy.

Your customers are now on SOMEONE ELSE'S list.

Let's say that person now hammers, just hammers, your
customers with affiliate offers for other people's
products. How much money do you make on those back-end
sales?

Chances are, not a dime!

Let's say they promote other people's $2000.00 seminars.
How much do you make? Not a dime.

That's right. So you make $45.00 per fantastic customer
you send someone else. They email them offer after offer.
And you make zero.

Now whose the genius and whose the fool?

Same plot. Bigger game.

Let's say you promote a $3,000 seminar. You make a $1,5000
commission -- or in most cases less.

However, after that seminar, the promoter sells your best,
high-ticket buyers a $5,000 seminar. Then a $10,000
seminar. Then a $25,000 seminar. And all the ones that
don't buy those, they sell $1000, $2000, $3000 courses,
products and seminars.

How much do you make on those back-end sales?

Zero.

So you gave away all your best, high-ticket buyers for
$1,500.00. Is that a good deal? Or did you sell your soul
for a pot of hot soup?

You tell me.

I'm not saying the above scenarios are necessarily wrong
or bad. But as an astute marketer, you should be aware of
the difference between making money on the front-end and
making money on the back-end.

Of course, I have a vested interest for telling you this.
We pay our associates 50% and more on 13+ back-end sales.
We pay a smaller percentage of high-tickets. And on
occasion we promote an affiliate program that doesn't pay
you a commission.

However, it's the exception. Not the rule.

That was my commercial plug. You know, my friend Joel
Christopher says "You gotta ABP." Always be promoting!

Anyway, I hope this opens your eyes to the value of the
back-end. And if you choose to let someone access your
list for a one-time fee, scoop off your best customers and
then suck all the cash out of their pockets and not pay
you another dime -- at least you're doing it consciously.

And not because you had the wool pulled over your eyes.
